LIFE is too short to live without a Volkswagen Transporter campervan – so that’s exactly what Rachel, Rob and their son Ben Varco did.
The decision to have a full campervan conversion followed some unfortunate personal loss in the family. Rachel said: “Last year was a sad year for our family, the loss of my dad and Rob’s auntie, both of which encouraged us to go for it saying life is too short. Our only regret is that they will never see what you have achieved, we cannot thank you enough.
“To say that we are delighted with the van would be an understatement, the level of finish and attention to detail is second to none. All that’s left to say is that all the three of you are fantastic and a real pleasure to deal with, roll on Chilli Jam Vans Jam.”
This van was going to be used all year around so the couple opted for Chilli Jam Vans’ full monty carpet lining, insulation and sound deadening package with additional 3mm silent coat treatment applied.
At the back is the fabulous Reimo Variotech bedseat on rails which was upholstered in black leather and royal blue diamond cross stitches to match the VW captains seats at the front, also upholstered in the same design to tie in with the conversion’s colour scheme.
An Evo Design kitchen in blue and worktop, table and custom made over arch locker in black pixel was fitted together with a mini sink and shower head hidden in the cupboards. The showerhead is also removable so that it can be plugged in and used at the side opening door or at the rear.
This conversion had the luxurious Webasto x100 diesel hob meaning the van is gassles. The one-flame cooker offers one area to cook and one to warm up meals and is especially suitable for individuals who want to rely on only one fuel source on board.
Webasto Cruise Elegance 49 fridge was also fitted.
Other nice upgrades included custom made blinds that were locally made in Hayle, Cornwall and VW caravelle stainless steel steps package that included cab side steps, sliding door step and full width rear threshold cover.
